3a. I can explain the causes of acid precipitation.
3b. I can explain the effects of acid precipitation on ecosystems.
3b. I can explain the effects of acid precipitation on ecosystems.
Getting to know our objectives
Read about acid precipitation here. While you're reading, take two-column notes in a Google Doc over the I can statements - your notes should be at a level 9. This means NO COPYING from the textbook, and you should have more than a few words or sentences for each I can statement!
When you are done with your awesomely impressive level 9 two-column notes, turn them in to the appropriate assignment in Google Classroom.
After reviewing the notes, Mrs. E will return them in Google Classroom. Watch the following online interactives, and then add what you need to add to your I can statement answers.

Applying our knowledge
1. Go get the acid precipitation map activity from Mrs. E. Do it and turn it in to her when you're finished.
2. Create a public awareness poster that informs the people living in Woodstock of the following:
a. How acid precipitation forms
b. What forms acid precipitation can take
c. Several specific effects that acid precipitation can have on ALL of the ecosystems we see in the Woodstock area - wetlands, urban areas, rural areas, woodlands/forests, etc.
d. 3-4 ways the people of Woodstock can prevent, mitigate, AND remediate the effects of acid precipitation on the environment. (Don't know what some of those words mean? Look them up!)
You should do this on the poster paper provided. You will be assessed over the I can statements listed above, and the scores will be entered in the gradebook as a lab score.
