Objective #1 Activities
1. It's everyone's favorite activity - 2-column notes! In a Google Doc, create a table and take 2-column notes on all of the I can statements listed above make sure you READ the objective and answer it - and be specific! These notes are due on Wednesday, 2/25 by the end of the class period. Turn them in to the "Atmosphere and Climate Change Objective #1 Notes" assignment in Google Classroom. Read the pages below from your text in order to take these awesome set of notes:

EPA Article - Ozone
Process of Ozone Depletion
2. Atmosphere Structure & Features - Get a copy of the activity titled "The Earth's Atmosphere" (this should be on the front teacher desk). Read the reading, and the answer all of the questions. (yes, you must READ FIRST, then answer the questions! Don't skip to the questions!) Check your answers when you're finished by asking the sub for a copy of the answers. Return that copy to the sub when you're finished!
3. Ozone layer - Get a copy of the activity titled, "The Ozone Hole and Global Warming - 1" from the sub. Read the article on the first page and answer all of the questions. Turn this in to your period's box when you're finished.
Next, get a copy of the "How Does the Ozone Layer Change Over Time?" Activity from the sub. Go to this site and do the activity, answering the blue questions on the handout. Turn it in to your period's box when you're finished.
4. Go get a copy of the Disappearing Ozone activity (you can see what it looks like here, but you need to get a copy to write on from the sub). You'll need colored pencils; they are on the back lab island. Turn it in to the box when you're finished.
5. Concept Mapping Activity - Using Popplet or Wisemapping, create a concept map about the depletion of the ozone layer. You need to include:
a. What CFCs are an what the ozone layer is
b. The process by which CFCs damage the ozone layer (this should contain MULTIPLE steps - it's a cause and effect chain!)
c. What the current state of the ozone layer is
d. Two or three specific human actions that have contributed to the current state of the ozone layer
e. The specific effects of the human actions on the ozone layer
You may only use 1-2 words per box! ADD NOTES WHEN NEEDED TO BOXES TO EXPLAIN RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN TERMS. If I open up your map and don't see any notes, you will be made to add them - so just do them in the first place! Also, make sure this is at a level 9 - no copying from the internet or the textbook.
Turn in the link to your mindmap (make sure it's public, and make sure it's the link from a "share" button within the program, not from within your editor!) to the Google Classroom assignment titled, "Objective #1 Mindmap - Atmosphere."
All Objective #1 activities listed above are due by FRIDAY, 2/27! You will take the Objective #1 Progress Check on Monday, 3/2 during class.
